Home Sweet Home

When I moved into my house six months ago I tried to make my room feel like home. I managed to put a few pictures on the wall and that was as far as I got. After my birthday I decided to use some of my money to buy myself some treats for my room to make it feel more like home.

I bought this banner from etsy for £12.20. Despite coming all the way from Germany, it arrived really quickly. I absolutely love it. For anyone who doesn't know, 'Valar Morghulis' is a phrase from Game of Thrones, it's High Valyrian and means 'all men must die'. Seeing as I'm an avid fan of the show and the books I couldn't resist this (although it was a close toss up between this and 'Treat Yo' Self').

A few weeks ago I posted about buying these lovely baby animal night lights from Lisa Angel. Keeping with the woodland theme I seem to have going on at the moment, I ordered this wonderful framed paper cut, also from etsy. It's hand cut and absolutely beautiful, and it came lovingly packaged with a friendly note. The lovely fox print was a birthday gift from my friend Helena, which she tells me was also from etsy, but I'm unsure of which shop. I love the way these all go together, and the fact that match with my fox and owl cushions I got for my birthday.

To finish it all off I finally bought some more command hooks so I could hang some pictures. They're those clever stick-on hooks that hold really well and come away easily without damaging the paint. I love them, they're fabulous. The two drawings are by a lovely friend of mine, Katherine. I bought them from her a while ago and I'm so pleased they're finally up. The photos are of my late Grandfather, and my old cat Jessie. The 'Bitches Get Stitches' cross stitch sampler is something I made a while ago. I need to make some more sassy samplers for my wall, I think!

I'm really happy with how my room is looking at the moment. It's not quite finished yet, but it definitely feels more like home.

Bryony :)
